Trinus VR and Google Cardboard
« on: March 30, 2016, 11:35:31 am »

I'm going to pick up a cardboard pretty soon to screw around with. I will mostly be trying to get it to work in X-Plane 10 (but it's getting a bit old and ugly) and hopefully Outerra.

The app I plan to use is Trinus VR. If anyone knows of a better one, please inform me. I will be using a Tab S 8.4 (big but it is usable according to the interwebs). If anyone has experience with Cardboard and Outerra let me know, I'd love to not reinvent the wheel and make the same mistakes as others. I'm really pumped to start experimenting with affordable VR. Maybe once oculus doesn't require a mortgage and selling my spleen to afford I'll get one, but for now a pizza box and a cheap pair of binoculars will have to suffice.

I'll keep updates posted here but that might not happen until May since I'm flying off to the other side of the planet. I'm also working on a full island scenery of the Hawaiian Island of Lanai, since in X-Plane 10 I am on the Hawaii Photoreal Team.

Curiously, did you manage to get it to work with Outerra?
Nevermind, my question has already been answered here...

I've tried Cardboard + Trinus VR on X-Plane and it's rather disappointing as it only supports "Fake 3D" mode...
