Title: mig-29
Post by: Vincent1000 on May 11, 2013, 12:25:16 am
Hi, guys!

Question for you, I noticed there are weapons on the Mig-29. How do I remove the weapons from the Mig29 in outerra? I saw on the youtube.com about the woman flies to the edge of space in the Mig-29. Apparently, the Mig-29 what the woman used to fly to the edge of space doesn't have any weapons at all but full fuel tanks and to keep the mig-29 light as possible. I would like to fly to the edge of space with the mig-29 in outerra! Thanks!

             Cheers,
            Vincent

The weapons on the model do not have an effect on how it flies... yet.

Hi, guys!

I set the altitude record for the mig-29 in outerra. I got the mig-29 up to an altitude of 161,049 feet or about 30.5 miles high!! The way I did this is I got the mig-29 up to an altitude of 46,000 feet, then I level off, I accelerate to 850 knots indicated airspeed or about 1,600 knots true airspeed, and then I pitched the mig-29 up to vertical climb to zoom climb until I got up to an altitude of 161,049 feet or about 30.5 miles high!!

           Cheers,
        Vincent

That's how they do it in real-life, but they don't go vertical, just parabolic. The engines also flame out in real life as well (no idea if Outerra does that yet), but somehow they got it to 200,000ft if I remember correctly!

Hi, GHAO!

What does parabolic mean? 200,000 feet? How did they got the mig-29 up to an altitude of 200,000 feet? I would like to try to go up that high in Outerra! Thanks!

Vincent, please do not create billions of new threads for just one question. If you have a high amount of ideas, post them in  http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?topic=3.msg18009#new (http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?topic=3.msg18009#new)

And meanwhile your requests are some kind of annoying because they show us, that you didnt understand what outerra is and how you have to use it.

Hi, Necro!

Oops! I apologize to you for creating billions of threads about requests. Please forgive me. Thanks! I'm just really looking forward for flying into space in outerra!

           Cheers,
        Vincent

I'm sure if you look up the world height record for a powered plane you can find out what parabolic is!

Hi, guys!

Question for you about the mig-29 in outerra. Will there be more working gauges in the mig-29 cockpit besides the artificial horizon, airspeed, and the horizontal situation indicator, and will there be a detailed engine startup like turning on the battery, get kerosene into the engine, open the throttle about 1 inch and then put the jet starter switch to the on position? Thanks!

       Cheers,
      Vincent

Of course there will be, but eventually, not now.

There is someone doing a MiG29 SMT for DCS: Test smt (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojmFTGdAA4s#ws)

Right now it's much tec demonstrating but that should be followed very closeley, who knows how it will evolve.

I also think that this mig will not even be halfrealistic. But if it fits in in the ranks of fc3 aircraft, i would go for it. Proably no one of us will ever make any mig29 flights, the flightmodell will never need to get certified because we could get tricked also if they say its ok and militairypilot approved. In fact, who grants you the dcs a10 or bms f16 fm is close to rl? They may deceive us all day long, but the feeling of the planes is good and more accurate it probably won't get, so i stick with them.

About the avionics i also cant tell. But keep in mind, that inside the ed board there are some documents under the desks which would be classified in general and they are not only posessed by the devs but by some members also.

Hi, guys!

Question for you, how do I get the Mig-29 engines 10 times more powerful, and is there some kind of config file in the outerra to change how powerful the mig-29's engines than they are? Thanks!

            Cheers,
        Vincent

How can I open the mig-29 engine config file in the text editor, and where can I find the text editor? Thanks!

In the config file, how do I change the mig-29 engines from jet engines to rocket engines? Thanks!

Hi, guys!

Okay, now I figured out how to give the mig-29 more engine power, I set the altitude limit from 60000 to 1000000000, now my mig-29 is flying off into space, I think there had to be a config file somewhere to change the control surfaces into RCS reaction control system but I don't know where. Thanks!

The position lights on the MiG should be corrected, because the way it is, just looks funny. ^-^
rule:
left - RED
right - GREEN

Hey,

I actually fixed the red/green nav lights some time ago, but they must have been lost between updates, so thanks a lot for the reminder.

The only thing I'm confused about is which lights strobe. I know from videos I've watched of the MiG-29 that there are two sets of alternating strobe lights, two on the tail and two on the fuselage (one top, one bottom), but I have also seen the wing tip navigation lights strobe. Are the nav lights set to strobe for during taxi or something?

EDIT: Here are the new lights: http://www.mediafire.com/view/b3fzr6d8ud93rhi/mig29.js

Default Controls:

L                  =       Landing Lights
Shift + N      =       Nav Lights + Formation Lights
Ctrl + L        =       Strobe Lights
Shift + L       =       Cockpit Lights
E                  =       Start/Stop Engine
W / S            =       Elevator
A / D             =       Aileron
Z / X             =       Rudder
PgUp             =       Throttle Up
PgDn             =       Throttle Down
Home            =       Increase Fuel Mixture
End               =       Decrease Fuel Mixture
P                   =       Deploy/Cut Brake Parachute
Shift + W      =       Wing Level Autopilot

Uriah
