Hi,
1. When I buy the Anteworld game, do I have the same grapichs, vechicles and options as in the Outerra video's?
2. It is possible to make models self for outerra? Can I edit the world, like I make a airport or place buildings?
-
1. Yes
2. Model importer will be coming in an update for those who have the full version, Angrypig's currently working on it (apart from bug fixing)
-
Oke, Can I then Fly with a controllor? It that supported or not?
-
We have tested it with XBOX PC controller too, though I'm not sure if it's currently balanced well. Did anyone else try it with a controller?
-
What I don't understand is, is Outerra based on Google Earth? Is the whole world rendered?
-
Yes, I am trying with my cheap knock off ps2 copy controller. Saitek 2600 I think. All buttons and analogue sticks work ok. Only a few other things needed as far as I can tell:
To be able to assign look around to the D-Pad (which I think Mr Angrypig is looking at )
Deadzones and sensitivites for the analogue sticks (although this is for proper joysticks also).

No it's not based on GE, it uses available world data (but not imagery as GE) together with procedural algorithms to render the Earth.

Okay, How Can I make an apron in the full version?
-
At the moment you have to do it as a piece of road. Put two way points, set the width that you need.
More advanced tools will be coming.
-
Oke, and how long will it take to that update? Do you know that?
And how can I fly in that colored Cessna, and Drive into the other vehicles as shown in the video's? And can I fly at lukla? If I go to the coordinates there is no airport. But in the Video, I see that airport.

Not sure, there's a lot of stuff that needs to be done and it will depend on the priorities as well. But it's one of the first tasks to do.

Vehicles are available through the menu. The Cessna plane is textured as needed for the game, but the original textured model can be released as a mod, I'll ask our modeler if it can be done.
Lukla isn't there now, it needs to be reconstructed - there was a terrain dataset change (see here (http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?topic=309.0)), that brought better detail, unfortunately it turned out that the old dataset was shifted and the elevations were off by a few meters, and the old Lukla scenery ended up being buried under the ground.

Is it possible to drive in the Tatra truck? It has a better quality I think, as the video's.
-
Both are Tatras, actually. Do you mean the older one, T813? Press key '5'
-
Thank you! ;)

I think the animations on the old tatra were more natural. The new truck has very fast and un-dampened movements and also the wheels reset to too low a position like there is no load. The actual driving physics I don't THINK have changed.
-
When driving down hill you will find the truck may sink into the terrain, especially so if going fast. Guess that's on the to-fix list as well sometime.

Hi all
How can I remove airplanes, drop down by "accident" ;)

How can I change the truck or the plane while the game runing? The "old" one allways stay there. :-\
-
Can you remove them with the object editor? Wow you must be getting like 10 FPS there. Outerra seems to chug when there are models. I don't know why. The terrain has thousands of polygons, but when it comes to a few polygons in a model, boy do the FPS go down. On the "Temple" location, just deleting the helicopter that is there took me from 17fps to 23fps. Pretty harsh.
-
I placed the ISS down and it didn't seem to impact my performance much, however I do have a Nvidia 560Ti. What video card are you running Luish?

It is not possible in the current version i will look at this issue soon...
-
It be nice if there was a little menu you could bring up like a Object Tracker, as I have placed a few things around the world by mistake as well, doubt I will find them all again LOL
-
I'm running dual GTX 260's (Core 216). I was at 39 FPS in the default location, then I spawned the ISS and it dropped to 17 FPS. I'd say that's a little much for my taste.
Then after I closed the program my computer locked up and crashed. It's stating to bother me a bit. It happens about 1 out of every 3 times, and it seems more so when I deal with objects being placed.
-
I do not know if Outerra likes SLI mode or not, try see what happens in non-sli mode. But really you shouldn't see such a impact on that rig, unless your running defective drivers. Some of the latest Nvidia drivers can be troublesome for older video cards. Two GTX260's should be more powerful then my 560ti.
-
That may be the case but I cannot turn off SLI because I'm running 3 monitors in NVIDIA Surround mode. Drivers are the new 295's, but I remember it crashing on the 285's as well.

The ISS has more than one million triangles! And there is some performance issue on NV 2xx cards in current version. One million triangles will slow down performance on every card, especially with such non-optimized object like the ISS.
-
That would do it! It looked pretty darn high poly when I looked at it. Do you think my cards being 2xx series contribute to the regular BSOD's and OS crashing that I am experiencing?

Yes there is a bug on Nvidia 2xx cards that cause random crashes (probably driver issue). We will have the Nvidia 280 for testing at the end of this week, i hope we will find out what is causing these crashes.
-
I do too. Thank you for looking into it!

Some more questions: ;)
It's there any Roadmap when you implement things like bridges, tunnels, lakes, rivers and so?
It's somewhere a user manual for keys like "R" going up, "F" going down, "G" open Google Maps, "C" change camera view, et cetera?
-
http://outerra.com/wiki/doku.php?id=manual (http://outerra.com/wiki/doku.php?id=manual) ;)
-
Um, that manual is an old one from the closed alpha. Needs to be updated ...

Yes of course, and since my last post on that score it's going on significantly various things.
For example that
http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?topic=861.0 (http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?topic=861.0)
The “Outerra time” going on extremely fast and that time will never standing still 8) So that manual as well it is already old again. ;D
