I've made the swedish iron ore train (locomotive) - the IORE for Rail Simulator / RailWorks / Train Simulator 2013.
I've imported this loco into the outerra engine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iore)
This locomotive was made in Germany but drives only in Sweden-Norway (Luleå - Kiruna - Narvik).
At this time all models are static-models.
Models made by me.

Very nice!

Soon.

Very must be!
(AI as well as user controlled)

This is the chinese sister of the IORE - the HXD3B:

*Edit:
and here the old swedish 'Da'-locomotion.

Very nice. I really want to implement that track support now :)
I wonder how we'll implement the physics for it though.
-
When you implement tracks i will definitely have to buy a new graphics card and throw in the fire my 4850. I'd love to drive those things in Outerra.
-
I wonder how we'll implement the physics for it though.
Would it still be using bullet and the actual physics of gravity and slip to stay on the tracks with modeled wheels? Because if it wasn't going to be I would cry.
-
I guess it will use Bullet and generate forces to compensate the gravity and inertia. But it will need to generate forces from the engine, and sideways forces exerted by the rails on the wheels, brakes and whatever else there is. I suppose there's lots of details in it.
-
Even simple path follow controls would be more than enough as the beginning.
But truly, what would be nice to see is imported tracks from OpenStreet Maps.
(filled with AI trains)
-
You know guys..... Nothing is stopping anybody from making a kickass train model that just.... Drives around.. Just saying...
-
What about yourself? ;)
-
Modeling is German Chinese to me.. I could probably learn but I much prefer good people modeling and I take advantage.
-
I've upload a little "trains and more" package.

Nice work! Great looking models and textures!
Marko

Can you throw it up on http://www.reddit.com/r/OuterraAddons/ (http://www.reddit.com/r/OuterraAddons/) .. I could also do it but I'm hoping everyone contributes too.
-
lol, think I said this on the youtube video, wwwoooooow! good work
-
I want that in Outerra. I`ll build a city with it:
[0004] Shibanxi Railway (China Steam Train) 嘉阳小火车(芭石鉄路) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJVNZRKiiH0#ws)
Wohooo!:P

... did it just evacuate the oven on the tracks ?
-
Yep!
-
Thank you for trains and other stuff! Very well made indeed!
-
Haha forget building cities! I would make roller coasters with this stuff...
-
Ah c`mon Cameni! Get the trains done! At least give us something to play with untill you get other stuff done!
-
Hmm...too mush silence. Something isnt right here.... *BOOM* (New feature for Outerra released)
-
quiet .. everything is synchronized.

What....
The.....
Outerra!
-
I can't see the trains in Narvik or anywhere how do you find these things ?
-
Increible. Se ve fantastico!
-
How exactly was the tunnel made for the Trains and More package ? Wont the lines intersect and penetrate into the terrain unless a 'hole' is made in the terrain ?
-
civilization would be inconceivable without the trains.

Did I just watch a working train in Outerra? But I recall Cameni saying it wouldn't work. Don't mess with the laws of physics, pal. :o
-
No, not really. I think he's just using a "flying" model and guiding it along the tracks on his own.
-
Cameni
"Railroads will be rendered using a similar system as roads - spline interpolated waypoint system. Actually built on top of the road system, as the tracks will have to adjust the surrounding terrain as well. On top of it a geometry rails/sleepers generator."
Cameni
"Unfortunately it's not a matter of luck, and while the railway tracks are in the plan for a long time, we have lots of open stuff that needs completing before we open new tasks."
:P
-
Even a fake train is still a train. Good work!
-
Very outside the box thinking!
-
That needs some screens n switches !

Whaaaatt!!! you can do that, as in move objects from script ?

Could you upload it in this page? :

I doesn't know this website ! Thanks ! ;)
