Played with architecture a bit. The models were not suppose for use in games, but Outerra handles them very well.
Got any with interiors?
Soviet motorcycle with sidecar, owned the real thing when I was teen age:
Great model, do you have it rigged for physics?
I had to tessellate arch models to shadows work ok, so many of house' polygons are from that tessellation.
The motorcycle is not animated (and wasn't suppose to), but I can animate it quite fast when we be able to use physics, as well as optimize the mesh. Though texturing it to get proper soft shadows will take some time.
I got loads of em, down to furniture level.

Throw up a nice place in Aspen Colorado. There should be some breathtaking views out every window.
care to share the plane? Looks really awesome and would be a nice addition :DYes, I'll share it when it will be ready.
Some gameplay. I really enjoyed the mig, it was a nice addition :D
That first would be great whyte some Mi-24s flying red army invasion style. ;D Interesting vids. Cant wait seeing OT used like an RTS whyte lots of tech moving around the dusty planes. Also, it would be interesting to have an simple autopilot mod for vehicles too ....
Yeah flying in formation will be cool ... until we get guns on it ;D
If there was collider on planes i could have tried to bump the empty plane to make it change direction and avoid the mountain :P

... is true there ... procedural interior generation on top of the city-generator would be pushing a lot of polys away white some limited way of manipulating with it. But for specific interiors and buildings, it would need to be there anyways.

You were better than me in 'run chase in flight !!
Just a little tip: to adjust the speed of the flight, you can use the command "brake" ("b" key if you have not changed the configuration of the keyboard). Airbrake and flaps are operated at maximum and causing a sudden drop in speed.
It can be very useful!

Well i have an i5-3570k, 32gig ram, with an nvidia 660ti. Think i was having around 50 fps in that video.
Yeah, but even with my 770 4GB and 8GB of RAM it drops down into the 15-20s at sunrise and sunset when I have it set to Minecraft time. Occasionally along the ground during the middle of the day as well. Of course now the tree (and terrain) shadows are doing their thing.
I downloaded movie-maker and spent the day figuring it out. And..... here it is!!! ;DYou are genius. What beauty, Camera work just brilliant.

Well, maybe a few seconds of flying straight enough behind the Cessna in autopilot would be enough .. adding some rope trough movie effects would do too ... but i still want some Spin Tires stuff here ! ;D
from the air, the water mesh are looking pretty good! Will be really nice when OT gets vector river/lake.
The clouds looked to be too fast ...
... i like doing that, taking the Mig and flying up and down, or around clouds.
No sane person would ever take a glider up in winds that fast in real life, though..... =D
No hover but i think i have the perfect stick for heli. It's a cheap logitech extreme 3dPro. It has twisting stick and its not too stiff. The throttle lever has almost no resistance so it's good to change throttle speed quickly cause to do quick manuever, you need to play a lot with throttle . I have a saytek 45 with pedals but for heli, i prefer this cheap stick.
I have the same Joystick. Is it working for you the hat button in Outerra? For me no with that model.

Lol, so it was a stream where he was exploring Outerra on the go, because he bought it that day. It was a bit complicated since he doesn't know English at all, and, as you can see, Outerra renderer messed with YouTube streaming, so it turned out to be really laggy. Nonetheless, it got many views and helped vk community to expand to some extent, which is kinda cool :)
I also suggested him to make a normal video trying out some notable add-ons, but after this mipmap issue a lot of them (eagle, dolphins) are purple on a distance, which is not aesthetically appealing. I selected those that don't have this problem and sent to him, maybe he'll publish something, maybe not.
Well, essentially he could solve the whole pink-panther issue by using one of the posted methods to bulk modify his packages folder.......
Very nice video! I was thinking as I watched that you were probably wincing, waiting for the stutters, and I see some skillful cuts that I suspect were quick stutters that were covered nicely. Great job!
Very nice video! I was thinking as I watched that you were probably wincing, waiting for the stutters, and I see some skillful cuts that I suspect were quick stutters that were covered nicely. Great job!
In fact, what's happening is that after two or three minutes of video, I think the movie file is starting to be too big and interfere with the objects loading in engine (on my rig), creating visible stutters. So after a minute or two, I simply F9 two time as quick as possible to stop the recording and create immediately a new video file. A small cut is still visible, but it's better than stutters later :)

Well, yeah, there is not much information about this team in the Web. Staying really busy with the project, or their policy may have changed so that they cannot publish anything associated with their work. Who knows...
But if they're searching for graphic designers, I guess something is still going on here...
I was blinking, because if they were military-sim guys, they would have been working through TitanIM, right?
More interesting was that videos that had been up since 2013 got taken down the day you found it........

VFR skill... or radar altimeter and instrument flight rule.
Nicely done M7. The glider really gives a better sense of the scale of those mountains and the detail of Outerra. Time for some lights in that cockpit though.
-Uriah
I would fill my pants staying so long in a cloud that near to mountains ... its also really weird with that speed of them. I have to say, that when the clouds will be able to follow the contures of mountains, like in that Camenis promo-shot, such flights will be beautifull.
Time for some lights in that cockpit though.I've searched photos/videos for the ASK-13, Heinkel He-51 and Corby Starlet CJ-1 to see how the lights look like in real life, and even if these have any, but I wasn't able to find anything.
I was wondering why lights had not shown up on other planes, but was determined to be patient.Since there was no interest shown in that direction, I thought I do that upgrade later.
The Edinburgh University K13 has a bright yellow strobe on the deck just
behind the cockpit and is superbly visible on the ridge (which can get crowded
and murky) as a result. I'm all for them.
I've already discussed this with fellow pilots and the issue that always
came up was:-
where to mount them easily?
if put on tips of wings, then very difficult threading wiring through wing
internals to cockpit control/power area
if put on nose, then usually aero-tow hook in way
if put on tail tip, then gliders thermalling below you wont see you
conclusion so far is on belly of cockpit, forward of wheel, using a 360
degree viewable strobe lamp unit, maybe inset somewhat into belly skin to
minimise damage on landings, and as near CofG, should not disrupt
"balance/trim" of aircraft and elcectics/electronics far enough away from
compass to reduce any effect on that.
Rules of the Air Regs 2007, Statutory instrument 734 Rule 50
"At night a glider shall display either a steady red light of at least 5 candela showing in all directions or alternatively standard red, green & white aeroplane lights"
A glider can remain airborne at night in ridge lift (the duration record for a glider flight is I believe 56 hours by ridge soaring) or in mountain wave.
Duration flights in gliders were getting to silly lengths pre & immediately post war and are no longer recognised on safety grounds (I think)
Night flights in wave would technically be possible but the prospect of a night field landing doesn't appeal and I've never heard of it being done.
Oh, I haven't thought to look at the ASK-13 in flight gear.
And it seems that there are lights only on the gauges. Alright then, I'll try put the lights just as they are in FG. :)

I flew a Bocian at night at Leszno Poland. The Poles are the only country i know that regularly fly gliders at night. They use to insit on a parachute jump from a glider too!
The only recent night flight in a glider in the UK was done in the late 70s by Humty Dumty (Humphry Dimock) at Cranfield. He fitted a single Red light to his glider, just to make a point it could be done.
I know that Poland used to have a night glider rating, and some UK pilots did aerotow night checks.
Lights on the tug aircraft, low level cockpit instrment lights and normal runway lighting.
There is apparently to be an EASA Glider night rating, and I suppose the same training would apply?
When duration records existed, beacon lights were put on ridges and ridge soaring was used; duration records were discontinued after they reached several days, and pilots fell asleep killing themselves in the subsequent crash.
While wave lift certainly exists during night hours I am not aware of any intentional night wave flights (although a number of landings have taken place after sunset, it is easy to be deceived by the sun being well above the horizon at 20,000ft when it's sunset on the ground, and it takes a finite time to descend - too fast and it's easy to get an iced up canopy. Car headlights can make a very good makeshift 'flarepath'.)
OK, since we were at an impasse as to whether Gliders flew at night, I took the question to Avsim and started a thread. The conclusion, after a bit of back and forth is that there appear to be no regulations prohibiting night flying, just a bit of paperwork that needs to be filled out.
Your biggest obstacle will probably be your insurance company!
Its strongly suggested you equip your glider with lights if you do so, with the suggestion being that the lights be patterned on that of a regular private plane, though as posted above, a single red light is also acceptable.
Here is the Avsim thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/465442-so-can-i-fly-a-glider-at-night/

Woah, thanks =D So the conclusion is : it's possible in many places, but you should better think twice before doing it. It's interesting to see that it's mostly legal because nobody thought it can be a possibility ::)
As far as aircraft strobes on the glider, apparently its up to the user whether to install one and where. (or even whether to install one at all!) so you are probably free to use your imagination. I have quotes from pilots saying:Thank you for the info HiFlyer! I'll see what can be done on the ASK-13. :)QuoteThe Edinburgh University K13 has a bright yellow strobe on the deck just

Yep, that's Langdon's channel :) Actually, he made some changes and the test we did yesterday was really smooth!
By the way. In the videos i saw wider view of the cockpit. In the past was posible make this increasing the Fov angle.
But now if i increase fog angle the cockpit view is always the same.
I liked to fly with this wide coclpit. How i can do it again?
Also, what happens if two aircrafts collide mid air?
Asking nicely, could you produce a video of the glider in a deep spin ?

Popping up ! yes you're right. For the moment I let it pop up on purpose to see that they are automatically generated when the camera moves. Creation range can be adjusted. I think for the video I used 1.5 km. Would be sufficient for smaller buildings and other small object. I fully agree that for skyscrapers creation range should be much wider, but this is just an experiment. I need to figure out the right "Mix" of buildings, and introduce a better distribution (not uniformly random) maybe related to location on the map. (close to city center there are higher buildings and farther away smaller ones and industrial buildings) ...but everything is at an very basic experimenting level..no serious intention to make a mod behind it for now, untill I get some nice and especially useable results. My biggest problem at the moment is to avoid that objects get placed inevitably also on roads. If this were not the case then it would be possible to get already a city where you can drive through. For the moment however I don't know how to tell the script where roads are :'(.
;)
ahh.. good music

very good fly77. great ... that's almost a game ..
Have you tried to make a hole in the ground of outerra with any excavator? :)
^ Explosion Excavator! 8)yep...use explosive excavator using the "create crater" command!
Some random experiments with excavator-physics in outerra :D

Very nice. The physics is just perfect. Great work
Great little project

I imagine that inserting train tracks is very similar to inserting roads .. and the slopes will be the same flat, upper (bridge) or lower (tunnel)
Just a short teaser of what is my "oven" :)

I swear.....
We never seem to hear from the developers anymore.
If it was not for you, apparently nothing much would be happening, or at least that's the impression I'm getting.
fly ,, did you ever free that hook and cables ?? =| :oyou mean if i released it ? no.. because soon after this test I broke the code.
