We'll be switching to a new forum software soon, the new forums will run on SMF2 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php). It will bring extended forum functionality to both users and admins.
There will be two default themes to choose from, a black & white one. Here's a preview of how it looks:

Some transitional issues can be expected, but nothing too serious.

We won't have to re-create accounts will we? Not that it's a hassle but just checking.

No, everything will be converted, old login/pwd will stay valid.

Maybe you could make a third "Outerra" theme, with whites and blues?

Go to http://www.outerra.com/forum4/index.php to have a look. I found it through an email sent from the new forum. Unfortunately i can't remember my password, and opera has no method to look it up (?) so i'm going to have to find it or change it.

If you have it saved in firefox you can just go to tools, options, security, saved passwords, show passwords to see it.

Okay, it's converted. You can change to the black theme in your profile if you wish, Look and Layout (http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;area=theme).

Just follow the link Look and Layout (http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;area=theme), the first line there - current theme - change.
You can get there by clicking on Profile, then Modify profile, Look and Layout.

The faded out post dates are annoying.

for me all threads are marked as "new" now, do i have to click on every thread now to repair that?

There's a "Mark all messages read" button in the right bottom corner below the forums.

Well, the themes need additional beautification, but there's no time for that now.
It was done because we needed the extended functionality of the new forum software.

You can get there by clicking on Profile, then on Modify profile tab, Look and Layout. In the first row with "Current theme" click on "(Change)" link.

Any plans to have a space in forum for posting Addons (Models, Scripts etc.) as a library?
So the library have sections (models, scripts, maps - buildings, cars, aircraft) and each post has Screenshot , description and download button.
