Title: publishing outerra
Post by: ChenYen on July 02, 2012, 11:38:50 am
Hello to all,

I know that you are a small team, but you should attract the attention of some publisher {not the big ones}.
You know that this is not the perfect time for indie games with the big of quantity of games we have in the market, so
try to have an approach with some publisher to use your game engine or even to help you building it and create your
   game.
   A wish:
Why you do not work with some other gaming community like rigs of rods they will help you in so many different way.

Deals with game publishers aren't usually very attractive, and they often don't have the courage and ability to recognize the potential either, playing conservatively.
But we have other means to grow and to develop this technology, with support from other, non-gaming areas as well, since it can find its use in many areas.

RoR ... we have been in contact with the devs, but our focus and goals are different, and we didn't come to terms. RoR community is just a part of the possible spectrum for the Outerra tech, but to support their requirements (a plugable high-performance physics system) the engine must become more developed first. It's basically too early, but I believe there will be a beam physics plugin and games using it in OT one day.

I'd rather see a small team get the structure stable and updated and then let the mod makers go berserk all over its azz. Pay the creators and maintainers of the engine and if the mod makers want. Them too. Most will likely build and release their mods for free.
