Hi Cameni,
i may have asked this question in the past but can't see to find any thread about it (my poor eyes). Can you explain why, when I load Outerra, that it keeps trying to download data using base.desc file because it's about 6MB of data each time I load the program which does add up on our internet plan. Do you think I am missing data?? My folder is 11.8GB.
Should it be doing this each time I load it?
Thanks in advance
Kelvin

Normally the program only peeks the base.desc file versions to see if there are any newer/updated terrain files. It uses http protocol that returns a special code if the files weren't modified, instead of redownloading the whole files. This process is controlled by the file modification dates.
Reason why you get it downloaded every time may be because the system doesn't report the right time for your locally stored files. Older Windows versions had bugs there, but it should be all fixed now. UTC time is being used there, so daylight saving times shouldn't affect it either.
Btw there are 6 base.desc files, does it download each of them? If it's only one, could you try to delete it and let it download freshly? Please also attach eng.log

ok, i will delete first and report back if issues still exist.
