When I'm leaving a vehicle such as the truck or the Lamborghini (http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?topic=1630) by pressing enter the sound of the vehicle remains even when flying away (and usually glitches somehow after a minute after which it doesn't really sound like a vehicle anymore).
It would also be cool if there was an option to disable sound overall or just for vehicles in the settings.
Not sure if this is the right place in the forum to put this (is there a section just for bugs in here?).

http://xtrac.outerraworld.com/ (http://xtrac.outerraworld.com/) here you can find infos about the game and also a bugtracker where you could submit your bug.

Hmm that's odd, though there are some issues with audio and OpenAL on some sound cards. Can you try updating your audio drivers?
-
Same thing on mine.
It doesn't happen for each vehicle.
Definitely had it on Lamborgini.
Have onboard RealtekĀ® ALC889 on Asus Rampage 3 Extreme. Never updated drivers.

I have an onboard soundcard and used this (http://www.computerbase.de/downloads/treiber/sound/realtek-hd-audio-treiber/) to update. However for other games it's working well.
Same thing keeps happening.
The truck didn't glitch for now but it often worked well previously too. The lamborghini keeps glitching, first I thought it flipping around pretty crazily after hitting a small stone (not sure if that's a problem of the model or sth else - it flips around way too much) but after restarting and just driving slow for a few meters, parking and pressing enter the same thing happens. I also noticed that it reacted to me pressing w after exiting the vehicle as it gave gas that moment (however it didn't react to pressing s/break). If that's of any use I could record some noise it's making.
Here's a screenshot of the console while this happened:

I think adding a new option for disabling sound at all or for vehicles would temporarily solve this problem and be of much use for people who want to listen to music while playing instead of the drowning voice of some car.

I've noticed this on custom vehicles but not on built in ones. Maybe there's a code bug, or user error?
-
Seems to be an issue with the particular audio samples used for the lambo vs. the OpenAL library.
-
Ok. My car has the same issue. I'll check it out as well
-
So it's this thing: sound samples must be mono. Stereo samples do not make sense here anyway, because the audio library generates positional stereo from 3D data by itself. Stereo samples are treated as if they were ambient music, no attenuation with distance etc.
We are going to put an error message there to warn you about it.
-
Ah, ok, thanks for tracking this down. Easy enough to fix on my end :)
-
Pfft. I solved that months ago with my testing. Good to know even I can fix this issue.
-
Great, thanks!
And what about sound-volume options for the next update ? I also heard someone else ask for it and it's a useful standart option in all games I know of.
-
Will try to add at least the global volume.
