Hi,
I am having trouble getting outerra to recognise all available axis from my device, I have a Logitech G940 and only the main joystick is being detected, I can't assign my throttle and pedals to any controls as they simply do not register, the G940 is working properly and calibrated.
I have attached my eng.log in case it helps.
-
I can't upload the eng.log as it's file size is too big even zipped.
-
Please mail it to support at outerra com.

sent

Still have not received anything.

while I'm here I can post more discoveries:
at the end of the tabs in the controls section under controller I have 'HID' listed, if I try to select all I have are 3 identical HID listings with no differentiation, also while in game there is a sort of console log window at the top of screed which seems to repetitively say 'INFO adding HID device' or something like that.....the window is disabled with key 'p'
-
Having watched the games behaviour I figure the individual controllers are being detected by the game, the console window gives a repetitive 'adding HID' message when I move any axis on my devices and the devs folder has been populated with config files that match each units characteristics, it's simply a case that in the controller setup the buttons and axis from the throttle and pedals are not being detected.
Have you had any luck receiving my eng.log?
-
Yes received now, noticed that the support account didn't forward the mails automatically as I thought it was set up.
Looking at the issue. That repetitive HID detection is something bad going on in there ...
-
Well it seems I may have solved this with a complete uninstall of my joystick including getting rid of all traces of Logitech drivers and software then re installing, now the axis all detect......I'm really flying now, a couple of points to notice, the throttle and mixture controls do not seem to operate beyond 22% and 78% despite the controller being fully calibrated, and the helicopter cyclic control seems to be reversed in pitch, I have to deliberately assign it in reverse to make it work in pitch properly.

OT doesn't use the calibration from Windows (DirectX), rather you have to calibrate it in the HID settings (click the button and put extremes). Or are you saying you did that and it still has a limited range?
-
Interesting, I have found another bug in that case, I get no such option to calibrate from within the GUI, rather I just get a 'reset calibration' button which just clears all assignments in my case, the only other options I get are for deadzone an linearity which I keep at 0 and linear respectively, the GUI still only lists 3 instances of HID with no specific identification of each device, all 3 have the same options.
-
Reset calibration resets the current calibration values. After you press it, you should put the axes to min max values, and new calibration values are saved when you exit the configuration window.
-
Yep, that did it, this time my axis assignments did not disappear too.....not sure what was happening before.
Now that's over and done with I can get on with building models :)
Thanks
