Title: Consoles?
Post by: Simbuilder5 on December 19, 2011, 01:25:55 am
Is there a possibility to see this game engine on an xbox 360 or ps3. If so, could a multiplayer lobby between a pc, xbox, and ps3 be linked? Basically, could you incorporate all devices on servers at the same time, and can a planet be edited between xbox, playstation, and pc at the same time like unreal engine or cryengine?

PS3 and XBOX360 doesn't have nearly enough memory for OT. It's got only 512MB of memory for both data and graphics.
OT needs at least 512MB just for the GPU side, and more for the CPU side.

Well, the whole world and the detail doesn't come cheap ...

What about PS4/Xbox one?
They seem to have the specs as a mid range gaming PC.

We eyed PS4 as a possible one to run OT (probably with less modifications needed than for Xbone), even went to check what is needed to become a registered developer, but ... I don't actually remember why we didn't pursue it further  ???

Might be worth mentioning it as a possibility when the kickstarter goes up.
