Title: Remove lowpass filter for camera orientation?
Post by: DeltaSim on June 15, 2012, 07:52:55 am
Hi,

as I mentioned earlier (http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?topic=1002.msg11648#msg11648 (http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?topic=1002.msg11648#msg11648)), I was working on a little head tracking program to control Outerra's camera by simulating mouse movements. So far it works very nicely (as long as you don't touch the mouse, of course 8)). There is one aspect about it though: The Outerra camera control seems to have some sort of lowpass filtering in it that gives it the nicely smooth panning of the image. For head tracking this is a bit of a nuisance, though, since it makes the image drag behind. Is there a simple way to go without the lowpass, e.g. by changing some figure in the configuration files?

Cheers, Martin

If you paid for the beta you can press 8 on the keyboard and you spawn as a player with no smoothing on the mouse look.

I will make it configurable (some value in eng.cfg) in the next update.
