Hi! Me and my 3 friend want to do simple 3d game. Is it possible to use outerra for this? And how with license for this engine?
Sorry for language.

The engine is not ready yet for use by third parties, it has no usable API/SDK yet and it's lacking many tools. However, once ready (or once it becomes somewhat usable) we plan to have an indie-friendly license, royalty based. It will take some time though.

Ok thx a lot. So maybe i'll wait some time for first release.

Yep... you have to wait a "bit". My expectations for example are low when it comes to time. In my opinion keep your hopes up for 2014-2015 for some Alpha version of the APi/SDK =)).
But as an advice, as I am doing... You should start making textures, think of the website, game interface style, write the story of the game, make 3D models of the objects that you will have in your game, draw sketches of how you want the things to be .. etc.. you know, stuff like that.

Sorry for old thread bump, but, are indie licenses free? I tried to research into them and I got something about independence licenses, but not if they cost anything.
-
There are no "indie" licenses, as it's hard to specify what an indie actually is.
Indie-friendly licensing is usually with little to no upfront payments, no direct support, and royalty fees (from your sales).

Hi,
I understand the product is not finished and there is limited API, but would it be legally OK to use it "as it is now" for a scientific research project (a psych study on VR) ?
Thanks

Please write some info about it to contact at outerra.com.

As this post was almost a year ago do you guys have a update with possibly making a API?!?! I have gotten to the point in making the game where you have the hard engine chose, I'd really like to use this one, I wanted exactly what you have but not a lot of engines have a planet as the map!
Great job guys :P
