Title: A few requests
Post by: murkz on September 18, 2012, 02:48:49 am
Hi Outerra,

Can these be added to the todo/discussion list :)

A merge tool for the roads, where one road joins another.
A year setting for the time and day.
The ability a place lamp posts and telegraph poles (any object) at a certain distance apart that follow the road automatically.
The ability to tilt models in game
The ability to scale imported objects.

Thank you very much for your continued hard work on what is my favorite engine.

A nice video. Interesting how the poles are enhancing it :)

Pretty much everything you listed is in the plan, but why you need setting the year in the environment settings? The day of year determines the ecliptic, but the year itself doesn't appear anywhere yet.

How would you scale imported models? Would the importer have to modify it and create another active model?

Also COULD the road tool just "build" the poles and guardrails procedurally attached to the road? This would be great for guardrails that could then be breakable but knocking over a pole is better if it is a model.

For my purposes the scale would be nice for the 3d trees, having to re-import every tree is time consuming :)

You got a point there :) ... and we would want probably model poles cause some of them will have lighting during the night on them. And some of us would prefer different kind of lights.
