Title: A seam in the terrain
Post by: KelvinNZ on May 20, 2013, 03:50:58 am
I didn't think I would ever see this issue again. i thought it was my texture tiling but happens regardless of texture used.

This can happen between cube faces from which the planet is created, because for some reason the random perturbation produces slightly different values there. I will be verifying it, also to ensure the semi-random values are the same on both ATI and Nvidia.

I have no doubt that you'll find a solution. Thanks Brano.

I got an open seam last night on my Nvidia card while making a road over a huge "rock" (mountain  ::)).
But that might be a little different than what you're talking about.  idk

On a side note:  With me wanting more accuracy, personally I'd prefer if roads (and other things) would/could align (back) to the actual earth terrain data and not the adjusted elevation made by the random rocks (or close to it), but whatever.  Maybe keep the random rocks, but have the "align to terrain" button align it closer to the actual elevation?  (or a new button)  Minor thing I guess.  OH SEE DEEEEEEEEE  :P
