The whole fatal error message is:
Error initializing OpenGL subsytem. This program required OpenGL 3.3 capable graphics card with recent drivers.
No suitable pixel format found
I have a Radeon HD7850 with Catalyst version 13.5.
Any suggestions on what to do?
-
Most likely the cause is again that Catalyst installer didn't install the drivers properly. We are checking the actual OpenGL driver file version and it's not updated. See for example this report by another user: http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/1f5zpv/outerra_anteworld_now_with_alpha_oculus_rift/ca7ass3 (http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/1f5zpv/outerra_anteworld_now_with_alpha_oculus_rift/ca7ass3)
The only way to get the installer to install the drivers correctly is to uninstall the old drivers and to clean up the drivers before installing the latest ones. Please follow the instructions here (http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?topic=705.0).

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to have worked. It still displays the same message.

Are you on Windows 7 32 or 64? Can you go to Windows\System32 or Windows\SysWOW64 and find atioglxx.dll there, right click on it, details and get the version number?
-
It is version 6.14.10.12217
-
That seems to be ok. Can you upload your eng.log?
-
Here's the eng.log:

The only thing that I see there that may theoretically cause some such problem is the AMD HydraVision Desktop Manager:

Not sure if it can be disabled or somehow told to not interject between outerra.exe and OpenGL.

Just noticed I'm getting such an error in case I have enforced Wait for Vertical Refresh in the Catalyst panel.

You should let it update to the latest version. Before running it again, check if there are no zombie outerra.exe running in the task manager.

What does it mean to "delete all in the windows document´s settings?" Where is that?
-
it means, In the European version of Windows 7 you have some configurations under start- your windows pc name/ apps /own documents !
you must delete these config!

Thanks, but see this thread...

...for a patch to solve the problem (fourth post). It worked for my Win8.1 system. I don't know if it would work for Win7 or other OS systems, but it might.
