So, I can't seem to get Dxtory to recognize and record Outerra. I'm pretty sure it's an opengl problem. I'm running an hd 7850 with the latest drivers.
-
yeah everything interfering with the rendering process doesn't really work well, you can use a screen capture program but not something that gets to outerra directly, or you simply use outerra's own video recording function
-
What a speedy response. I was having trouble using the default recorder. It uses like .yog files or something right? Then I have to get into the confusing command prompts and extracting. Is their another (easier) way to view the .yog files?
-
http://www.outerra.com/video/ (http://www.outerra.com/video/) :D maybe it helps
-
I'm still so confused. ???
-
http://winff.org/html_new/ (http://winff.org/html_new/) should be able to play it
http://www.outerra.com/video/ffmpeg-yog.zip (http://www.outerra.com/video/ffmpeg-yog.zip) you have to replace the ffplay binaries with those
-
What preset and such do I use? I'm a newbie.
-
mpeg4 high or superhigh quality should be okay
-
It's not working, I'm getting errors. I copied the binary files from ffmpeg to winff and replaced those then tried those presets and I'm just getting a command prompt with some red text that immediately closes. Nothing saves. Do I just add the .yog in or the .wav in too? If so, in what order?
-
When i do the audio with the yog i get sound but no visuals. When i do yog i get an error. The error is: Invalid data when processing input
-
hmm haven't tried it myself will do so some time later till then keep trying
-
after some reading and testing i think the easiest way to view them is to simply put your yog and wav file in the video folder from the zip file and press ctrl+shift+rightclick there you can choose open command window here an then simply write "conv.bat <your yogfile>.yog <name of new file>.avi" and a new file with the name you choose should be created.
-
That sounds easy, but i don't know what you mean by "from the zip file"? They aren't zipped. i zipped them anyways then put them in videos. I can't seem to get the ctrl + shift + right click to work so i just opened a command prompt and typed that. I probably did it wrong (because it said it couldn't recognize the batch file or something ) so could you please explain a tad more. I know i'm being tough on you, I just have no clue what i'm doing.
-
no problem :D everybody starts somewhere :D I meant http://www.outerra.com/video/ffmpeg-yog.zip (http://www.outerra.com/video/ffmpeg-yog.zip) this zip file, it has the batch file you are searching for in it :D sorry that I didn't specify that
-
Is the .yog file supposed to be compressing when i put it in the videos folder? haha im sorry.
-
you mean if the output file is supposed to be smaller ? Or what do you mean exactly?
-
Honestly, im still not getting the whole ctrl shift right click thing. doesnt that just run something as admin? do i do ctrl shift right click in the folder, batch file, yog file? then im lost. hopefully this is my last reply.
-
about your previous post. it said compressing but it didn't seem like anything happened. It looks to be the same.yog so it should be fine.
-
well the combination just opens up some additional context menu options ,but if you do that in the folder it should let you open an command window right there without having to navigate there, not terribly important though.
-
Forgive my stupidity but i can just open up a normal command prompt right? then type the necessary info to convert. Do i use the quotations and or brackets like you demonstrated or do i not use them?
-
sure you can but you have to navigate to the btach file in order for everything to work ;) yes no brackets/quotations just conv.bat filname.yog filename.avi nothing more :D
-
Where is the batch file located. Once again, this is the most complicated computer matter i have dealt with besides actually building it. Please forgive me.
-
batch file is located in the folder where you extracted the ffmpeg zip to.
-
conv batch conv4edit batch or conv4edit-noaudio batch? when i open one it closes immediately.
-
conv.bat converts into a smaller video file for upload or just viewing, conv4edit.bat converts into an mpeg-2 file which is better for editing, and conv4edit-noaudio does the same just without audio, I'd suggest taking conv.bat unless you want to edit the file.
-
makes sense, but they all close immediately after opening.
-
yeah that's why you have to start them from command line :D
-
it then says conv.bat is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Ill give up in a few minutes. im typing: conv.bat capture_1371437065.yog blahblah.avi ive tried with and without the underscore as well.
-
are you sure that you are in the right folder command line wise, what do you see left of the text you type ? Should say something like C:\Users\Youraccountname\Downloads\video> if you extracted the zip in your downloads folder ;)
-
I dont know how to open a command prompt other than the default location.
-
it's quite easy ;) either you try my shortcut again or you type "cd Downloads/video" (without "") assuming you are in C:/Users/youraccountname ;) with the command cd you can change directories(hence the name ) :D
-
Holy balls thank you. I realize now that is what that shift right click does. You deserve to be an moderator or admin for your incredible support. Thanks again babe. :P

no problem i just help when i'm able to
