Hi, it seems that im in love with outerra, i love modelling, and i love
different urban humanmade stuff.
I started with this tower

and will probably move towards making a set of rural american style town.
At least that's the plan.

Tnx everyone!
In between fightings with outerra i model some houses.
I have finished some house... It's really not looking like a house, but in fact it is.
I just found him on google maps, and modeled.
Here's how it is looking in 3ds max
(http://i.imgur.com/YGfbO3h.png)

and inside outerra
(http://i.imgur.com/RLUxeie.jpg)

my problem now is tiling, i have no idea how to fix that.
and also lod problems... ill consider continuing that model only after
i manage to overcome that.

Now im looking for some better reference of townhouse to make.

I have finished that house, found tiling solution and won LOD by just dont doing it lol.
That model is already as lowpoly as possible.

Also i did all normal and reflection maps, and apart from flickering that occurs for some
reason there are no big errors. Usable.

Hello mori,

I do not answer you because as you were talking about tile for the home, it seemed that it was achievable with 3ds - Max as I beats me with my English that 38-year-old, and I lost to the sons of the years. so I am using a translator.

Hoping that the translations are readable.
I also see that you were looking for how put a slab under the House then you have succeeded. Very well.

On my side I will try, I say try because it is not obvious in 60 years to make the 3D; especially when it's the first attempt.  :P :P

Good luck to you.

next house on the way, it's definitely prettier than previous.
Windows not finished, and a lot of details will be added later.
I like how i did the borders of the roof there is a small 32*32 tiled texture that makes roof
look very nice. At least from far. Lol. And i also changed some practices,
for example look at the beige rock texture, i rely on placing normal map with bricks
on it later, so i don't have to draw anything on diffuse. And also can reuse normals and diffuse
separately as much as i like. I also start adding small chromatic abberations on the diffuse textures,
i decided that adds realism, after seeing it used in some game projects.

Hello,

Very nice house, with its braces in the walls, it a resemblance to the Alsatian houses. It would be very nice to create small towns or villages.
Good continuation.

Personally I just created a student on 'Autodesk' account  ;D ;D 8) I have 3DS en free for 3 years. Now he'll tame the beast

Beautifull  ... how about speculating to make the insides with open-able doors ?

Its doable, ill try to make it today.

Further plans are to finish streets signs that StG2-Oldtown
abandoned.

I want to concentrate on street props, traffic lights, bushes, fences, all that stuff that can be used to populate the world.
If someone wants to join i would be very happy. Together we can build big model library.

Even if you don't model, you can provide ideas/pictures of objects you want to see.

Hello to all the community,

I see with pleasure that I am not the only Fan of your creations.
And the ideas of having doors or open Windows would give a longer life.  ;)

I would be very happy you finished elements of ideas with photos of objects that I think to see, at the moment this is the most I can do.  :)
When you'll need that I can assimilate 3DS - MAX before saying to make any object.

And at age 60 recorded less rapidly than in 20 years. It remains a neuron and the latter to spare it.  ;D ;D

I had to rescale all houses since the car showed how too big they are, so that was a pain in the ass to redo all
dae structure (omg kill me this eats so much time).
Also deleted the floor in garage and put emission texture.
Since i haven't managed to make collision work, i just avoid it for now.

Updated rural_house_2 scale, added rural_house_2_garage

I just did some research about road signs... There are many, and that must be done anyway, mi not afraid of the count,
what i am afraid of is the number of entries in your object list inside outerra after importing package :).

i have to wait until they upgrade the interface of objects menu, allowing to have sub folders, categories and such.
Just imagine 200 entries after you import roadsigns package... That's impossible to handle.

updated garage house fix normal maps

... maybe just make the work simpler by modeling basic structures, that are in many signs and just script a texture switch ? ... not much help, but still ... so even highway-road signs could be handled modified in certain way - and maybe even procedurally in the future ...

I updated Mori's models. Specular maps were creating a bunch of errors and it was not possible to add mipmaps to these. I deleted these speculars and fixed some other little bugs. I'm not really good in texturing, so it's the best I can do.

Thanks a lot Martin (M7) for your help!
