Title: Flightgear's Canvas Environment?

Hello there,
are there or will there be any plans for including the Canvas Environment recently introduced by FlightGear? This would it make much easier to include gauges in virtual cockpits and also usefull for other applications. It is released under the LGPL license, so maybe including it could be tricky, but I am not sure.
