A few weeks ago, I was watching (well, listening...) this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUDTlvagjJA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUDTlvagjJA) and I thought it will be awesome to add this kind of trick into a 3D game engine to simulate accurate sounds position for human ears.
Seems like you did it for Outerra :)

Love you buddy.. This is an important update!

Truly amazing.
Hearing is a very understimated part of the way that our senses gives us the representation of the world.
Every little aspect of a sound environment tells us a lot of things even without using eyes (although eyesight has greater priority - there are a lot of tests about this matter).
This is a giant step forward in the path of making the ultimate immersive experience in a simulated world, well done!

Amazing work...I´m a sound nut and I love this. Directional sound FTW!!!
-
That a great development. Now does sound have the ability to travel? Like if an explosion happen at a km or two distance, do we get a delay between the visual and sound?
-
That's not yet implemented, but I noticed that the new audio library we used here has a latency extension that maybe could be used for that.

fantastic
an enormous contribution, a new value to Outerra.
my most sincere congratulations.

Nice ... 8)

It needs some tweaking. It needs a bit heavier center weighting when the object is in front of you. I am sure the options exist.
-
Good stuff!

Nice.

Is the Doppler effect in?
-
Doppler was there in the previous version as well.
