The water in outerra is fairly good! but its repetitive, and has small waves... but other then that it works for us. and i saw this video and i hope soon it will become like this!!
or even better...

That is some goodlooking water. I'd imagine rendering it could have a serious impact on the framerate, though.
Can someone clarify: would this be feasible in the (near) future in Outerra?

Right now there are some limitations in OT that prevent using a better ocean water algorithm. It's mainly because of the shore waves implementation - it would be much simpler if there was just an open ocean water.
However, just recently we discussed a possible way to make a better algorithm work with the shore waves part, so unless there's a catch hidden somewhere, it should be doable.

Sweet! btw thanks for the response! finalized water will top this cake i can tell you that!!

It seems one of the hardest things might be eliminating repeating wave patterns, which the human brain/eye is very good at noticing.

Can wait to see those better waves!
Here's an example of the best waves I've seen in a video game recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i63NKuhLlcg (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i63NKuhLlcg)
(you might have heard of it ;D)

Hi everyone.
I found a way to configure the clouds to my liking so 'just for fun. There 's a way to configure the water to increase the reflection of the water? What parameters can be changed at planet? (For the clouds I put these clouds = values (cloud_params) {
base = 4000.0,
height = 25.0) I'm really excited about the possibilities' that offers Outerra.

OT development is very slow. You will see a game based on OT engine may be in 2020 or beyond that

Water reflection isn't configurable. It's based on fresnel equations, but the sky color for the reflection is computed only approximately in current version.

Thanks Cameni! :-)
