Amazement!I didn't know that neither, but they are very nice people indeed!
By the way, I didn`t know most of the Project Airbus team were Greek guys! :P
If I knew that, I`d contacted them in Greek, but it seems they where OK in giving the permission anyway! :D
I want one of thoseJust be patient, you'll have it soon :D
Looking at it again, it kind of makes me want clickable cockpits in Outerra more than anything else! :PYep, I can't wait for that to be implemented too.
WoW! :o Nice Mr. Levi & Co... :)Thank you! but what do you exactly mean by "Co"? Sorry for my primitive English.

Co. Short for company or Corporation. ;DAh ok, thank you sir! :D

sorry man, but I has no problems with these...Yes, me and myself ;) :D ;D :PNote: I'm working alone on this airplane, just in case you're wondering :P...and you? :P ;D ;)
Nice Work !!!Thank you!
Great stuff again!!Thanks man!
Thumbs up!Thanks!
Amazing!!! ;D ;DMaybe something like this? ;D
Now we just need a really big-ass airport/runway to fly it from!!!
Wow, with the ambient occlusion added, these images could have been duplicates. Thanks!
Incredible work!
Really great!!! thanks for the hard work!!!!Thanks!
Amazing!!! ;D ;D

@Acetone
Nice ;)
If we don't have speed brakes and reverse thrust, at least we need strong brakes, right? ;D :D
or use the brake command as also a speedbrake activation and use maybe the unused 'mixture' as a reverse thrust command.I'm not completely sure how to do that... Also, mixture is currently used to switch between different camera positions.
personally I'd like an extended keyboard, because this is just going to keep coming up as we get better and need more functionality....I totally agree with you.
I do hope there's no holding development back for keyboard extension for interactive mouse control as the 2 methods should co-exist together and are rather 'horses for courses' in their use.Agreed. Extended keyboard functionality together with interactive mouse control is definitely necessary, but we have to be patient :) :D
The problem I find with interactive mouse control is that you're having to 'look' at the device and select it before controlling... this is fine in a non-stressfull environment but is simply not realistic in others.... for example.
when driving a car, you don't look down at the gear stick, your hand automatically goes to the stick whilst your focus remains on the road... The same is true about a four quadrant throttle for a plane.. or a bombaimer whist on run in.. he doesn't take his eye from the rectal his hand moves out to the right and by touch alone flicks the master arm switch.
I think this 'simple' keyboard approach to control has a place in simulation.
Aerodynamics isn't good. All the same thanks! I have to you a small inquiry if to you it isn't difficult. You can import A319? or something from the A32X series? Once again thanks!I know flight dynamics aren't so good, that's mainly because I have almost zero experience doing flight models. Maybe someone with better knowledge/experience can take the FDM and improve it? ;)
I have experience in working on with scenarios for fsx. have work to do? maybe I can do something to help?

In the future, I'm planning to port the A318, A319, A320 and A321 from Project Airbus. That, if I get the permission to do so. But it won't be soon, as the process is very time consuming.
What could you do right now about scenarios, is making airports using roads with the help of Google Maps overlay, then sharing the cache folder so we can have them too. :) It would be very nice to have a big 'international' airport to land this beast on ;D
okay, in outerra have something like sdk, like in fsx? where do I start and what to read?
very interested in the question how to put photo ground from google maps to the outerra?
okay, in outerra have something like sdk, like in fsx? where do I start and what to read? There's no SDK at this moment. You can basically start reading the wiki (http://xtrac.outerraworld.com/trac.fcgi/wiki) and looking around the forums.

You can use google map or OSM as an overlay. Default keys are Ctrl+shift+G and Ctrl+Shift+M by default. This is useful mostly for hand placement of roads (F6).I was about to post this :D
Levi : I'm gonna try to do a basic version of a big airport. Seems like Ted Stevens (Alaska) have a correct flat surface in Outerra. So far, I've placed the runways only, correct lenght and width, and the alignment is... king of accurate ;DAwesome! Thank you! I love it's location, good choice :)
Wow Acetone, that airport is looking very good! I love your Talkeena airport too with it's little town :D, very nice job mate!
Why not creating a new topic with your airports to have it more organized? ;) :D

This is an incredibly high quality model. Thank you so much!I'm glad you like it :)
Awesome work, Levi. As usual.Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback!
Could you make a British Airways livery?I'm not a texture artist nor a re-painter. The liveries available are made by it's corresponding authors.
Oh and the download link doesn't seem to work for me?
Levi, it's at this point that you need to make a texture blank, that gets handed over to the guys on the texture forum.I've already linked the Paint Kit for re-painters. That's more that a blank texture, it contains the original .PSD with parts sorted by layers, etc...
I suggest always including a texture blank within the download within a docs folder.
1. Ok that's great to hear.
2. Sorry the link works now, must've been my connection :)
Oh and do you know why the throttle turns to 50% every minute or so?
Ah, yes. All is fixed now. Thanks Levi! You're welcome! Glad it helped :)
I downloaded and installed it in your folder. But I do not work is not executed,,,, "error"Have you used the auto-installer (double click on .otx file), or you manually extracted it? And, what kind of error you get?
I can not see the A-380 outerra :(
Any ideas? :-\
if I ran the automatic file .otx ...... F4 / planes / A380 .... accept and not the plane appears. I'm thinking I'm missing some library and which are not.Probably, for some reason it wasn't correctly installed. When you're back at home, try to manually install it if you haven't already. You can open the file with almost any archive managers (WinRar, 7zip, etc...), then extract it in Outerra's main directory.
I'm far away from home but Sunday and add back an image of the error if you can help me. thank you
the truth is I'm heartbroken to fly that thing.
the model A380 is just amazing I miss the lights and stewardess.
Very nice work indeed!Thanks!
Just an idea, did you try to use same mixture control technic to enable jsbsim autopilot?
I have ... what I have is mine ....Glad you finally got it working :)
new download, new installation. and all Ok !. problem solved. Thank you.
Levi .. is it possible to add lights to the A380?
:) :) :)
Are there any particle effects availableNot yet. But there's already some basic integration. Look when you create a crater:
Asking from developers any news on local dynamic light?Lights will hopefully come soon, together with other cool things. :)
By the way what are you guys working on at the moment ?Apart from secret contracted stuff - terrain self-shadowing, tree shadows, lights, SSAO, Rift DK2 support ...
i submitted your project to AirDaily X and they featured it. Truly amazing work showing what this platform is capable of!Thank you very much Ironkidz!
http://www.airdailyx.net/fsnewsbreaker/ (http://www.airdailyx.net/fsnewsbreaker/)
Too bad Outerra is stuck in a perpetual state of undefined development.
how do I extract the files? after downloading the fileYou just need to run the file (double click), and the plane will be automatically installed for you.
How to open otx file?Something happened in your windows registry, and .otx files aren't recognized anymore being a file format used by Outerra. Maybe you moved the installation folder in another directory after the installation...
how do I extract the files? after downloading the file
... but it would be wrong to cheat on my wife :o
Hi all!Thank you bendean!
Can i start by saying that this aircraft is fantastic. I've spent a long time cruising around the mountains in this. Excellent fun!
I fly Outerra with the Oculus Rift DK1 at the moment and the a380 works really well but I have one problem. The location of the pilot viewpoint is too far backwards, when I turn sideways my virtual "head" goes through the headrest and because I'm sitting so far away from the windscreen the view forwards is somewhat limited.
Is there any way I can edit/change the viewpoint location in-game or via a config file somewhere? or is this something that you can change Levi?
Thanks
Ben
Line 816 //Cockpit left
Line 817 if(cam>0.0 && cam<0.5 || cam>6.5)this.set_fps_camera_pos({x:-0.56,y:32.9,z:1.75});
Wow Levi, Thank you!Glad you guys are enjoying this plane :)
I moved the view forwards and upwards slightly and now it feels totally natural in the rift. A good friend of mine is an A321 pilot and he tried it out and was blown away by the feeling of "being there" in the rift :D
My only other thing that I would like to change is the tinted windscreen. Looking from inside the cockpit everything is much darker than when viewed from outside the aircraft. Is there anything that can be done about this? Its rather a shame as it makes Outerra look a bit muted and dull when really its bright and beautiful.
Cheers
Ben
wow, this is much better than the one i merged with wilco vol.2. is it compatible with P3DV2?Nope, it's not compatible with P3DV2, just for Outerra only.
Oh yeah! Now we are talking. 8) I upgraded the A380 cockpit for night operations.
I don't understand.......I've posted a temporary solution to this a while ago (now used by Uriah509 here, nice job btw ;)), but it seems that somehow you've missed it. =D
I thought the emissive textures went absent without leave ages ago. What exactly did you do?
Such nice panels ... they could be made working easily. Just few texture-meshes placed milimeters in front of each other, turning like normal gauges with some transparency. Great look !
