Title: Considering using Outerra's modding support as a playground for my personal SDK
Post by: MatrixCompSci on December 20, 2014, 03:06:32 pm
I'm currently in the works of developing DOT (https://github.com/MatrixCompSci/DOT) (Note, this version is really old. We're doing releases every few months), which is an open source interactive storytelling engine that I'm designing with 12 other computer scientists for large scale open worlds (We're hoping to run about 1.1 - 1.2 million NPCs on a single server).

Outerra's mod support seems perfect for a playground for debugging (Entirely internal. The likelihood this gets released is very low since DOT is GPL), as I can quite easily set up DLL invokes or even just have Outerra read particular packets from said server.

When there is progress on the playground (Most likely starting late January) I'll post updates here :D

Incase anyone is curious what DOT is: https://github.com/MatrixCompSci/DOT/wiki
