Great conversion!
My only complaint is that it does not like flying above 9100 ft. But hey, its a great flying and looking little plane.
Keep it up!

It should be able to reach that altitude. Did you tried to adjust the mixture to maintain high RPMs?

Never really messed with mixture, so did not think about that. Thanks.

You're welcome. :)
Mixture Control is quite important on piston powered aircraft engines, as it sets the amount of fuel added to the intake airflow. At higher altitudes, the air pressure (and therefore the oxygen level) declines so the fuel volume must also be reduced to give the correct air/fuel mixture.

This Starlet is a pleasure to fly, I wish I had one for real! ;)

Levi, please, what is the keyboard command for opening cockpit?
Title: Re: [Released] Corby Starlet CJ-1 from ClassicWings.net
Post by: Levi on January 05, 2015, 04:26:44 pm
The key is the same used to raise and lower the landing gear of any plane. Default is "period"(".").
If nobody noticed, the same feature is present on the Heinkel He-51 as well, but the little door instead. :D

Thank you Levi, with my settings it's the usual "G" for gear

Now I can feel the wind blowing through my (few) hair ... ;)

P.S./OT I like this kind community, and would like to give something back ... I am not able to develop for Outerra, but I've got some photosceneries I've made for FSX/P3D (central Italy and Dolomites/Tirol). Just an amatorial scenery, but quite well made, about 1 meter/pixel (LOD 15) and smooth coasts. I like to share it with good people, if any of you are interested please send me a mp, I will give you the links

We need some "markings" support, once MP works, there will be air-shows, teams and individual identification markings needed. 8)

Nice picture!
Actually, the head is moving based on the FCS input. But now that you mention that, it may be better to do it based on the plane's orientation... isn't it?

Well, I guess that to be "the official plane developer for Outerra" I should make the models myself from scratch, and not just convert them...

oh man.. any hints on what they are?  :)
Alright, I'll name the most relevant ones by their role:

Also, I think I know what planes/choppers they are. For most of them.

- F/117 Nighthawk
- F35 Lightning or an F/A-18 Hornet
- F22 Raptor OR a PAK-FA (that one was too easy ;) )
- SR-71 Blackbird
- Chinook or a Blackhawk (maybe, I'm not savvy on my choppers)
- AH-1 Cobra (can't be the Apache, we already have one ;) )  OR a KA-50/52
-...aaannnd a Merlin.

And what do you think about this one? But again, it's cockpit is not very detailed...

Well, we may need support to land on water for that machine, it doesn't have a landing gear... =|

So that thing is a fictional aircraft from a Japanese anime series, therefore, it kind of exist. They even made a 1:1 scale in real life!? :o
P.s. Though, the one for FSX is a bit of a low quality model for my tastes. :P

Hi Levi, I like your project, but ... a "bush" plane would be perhaps the best aircraft in the "rough" Outerra world, being able to land almost everywhere ...

I know the C172 and other Outerra models can do that, but it's not realistic ... it would become more realistic with a bush plane with big "tundra" tyres

I'm thinking of a Cub, a Husky, a C185 or a L-5 or L-19 ... or something similar ;)

I have the Corben Baby Ace from classicwings.net (http://www.classicwings.net/) and I definitely plan to port it, though I don't know exactly when I'll do it.

No, those are the Tundra wheels adler58 is asking for. There's a version with the normal ones too:

Thank you very much Levi, this Baby Ace is fantastic!
SOOOO nice, I would like to have one for real ;)

You are doing a really GREAT work: our dream (transforming Outerra into a true flight simulator) is getting closer and closer thanks to your outstanding research and development activity :)

It was such an easy fix, I could have pulled it off much much earlier!

I have a sequence of errors in the corby Starlet that I am not sure where they come from, but I think it is from some hidden object in the Ghedi airport ... it is very rare, sometimes I think they could be the non-optimization of some objects (mipmap), but for me it is a mystery.
I am pointing them out 1 - 2 - 3 the plane image disappears
and if I press (E) to turn off the motor does not respond ,, only after pressing many times.

with which key did the cockpit glass move backwards ??

thanks fly77,
sometimes it is the object ,, but in Gedhi the problem is not the corby ... it is the mesh of the road in that place ,, at the airport this only happens in two places, one is this one ,, something happens in that section street.

have you enabled the outerra building dataset ? I have not..because it lowers my framerate too much. For me there doesn't happen anything strange at that point of the Ghedi airport runway. I checked. ..also
your Ghedi scenery looks a little different now than mine ..sorry for crappy video quality..don't know what happened to the outerra recorder

fly77 thank you very much for the test ,,,, well then I have no idea what it might be ... some libraries tend to break ,,, we will wait for the new version and we will try to be more careful with the older objects,
