I always have the same problem, or tried and tried, but when I import a helicopter in outerra, is positioned correctly, when I edit the file below objdef, add ah64.js and I select the helicopter outerra, remains suspended at least one meter from soil.
I changed the position of the pivot in 3ds max and aligned helicopter zero axis Z,
