Title: Outtera to GIS Export
Post by: pacolwell on November 30, 2015, 02:39:35 pm
I have seen lots of people discussing importing GIS data into Outerra, and I would like to know if it's possible to do the reverse. How can I export terrain from Outerra to a more standardized vector or raster GIS format?

Many apologies if this topic has already been covered elsewhere or if I am violating other conventions of this forum.

It would be a bit more problematic, mainly because during the import we are partitioning and formatting data into structures suitable for fast local access by the world renderer, stripping unnecessary attributes in the process. OT isn't using typical GIS data internally, as these aren't the most suitable formats for a (procedural) world rendering engine, but it would be theoretically possible to capture the generated output and export data that way. However, this usage is rare, and the required effort probably would not be justified ...
