Yikes, glad I decided not to install it! Thanks for the heads up.
-
Too late here.... XD

Anyone else hear about this?
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2015/10/latest-nvidia-drivers-to-be-locked-behind-geforce-experience-app/
I guess they won't be releasing downloadable drivers any longer! :( So dumb! Does that mean we won't be able to revert to a previous driver version, if the Game Ready Driver must be downloaded through GeForce Experience?

Basically, yes, you need GeForce Experience to download drivers, not sure if they are going to add a "select driver" option, they certainly should.
Also worth saying, they were talking about making the GeForce Experience account dependent, meaning you're going to need an user account in order to use GeForce Experience, this was something they talked about a couple of months ago, haven't read about it in a while so it might not happen.
I honestly don't understand why they are doing all of this.
-
Yes, that seems to be the case. Doesn't make much sense does it?
-
I always download drivers from the regular page... no problems for me. Why not revert from here?
http://www.nvidia.com.mx/Download/index.aspx?lang=la
-
The point is they may be removing this page in the near future, and downloadable drivers will no longer be available. Really too bad.

... we should then download and store them somewhere ... or at least some good ones.
-
Xactly the same ! though i did something wrong :( even reset graphics settings in oth engine and nvcpl ! same.
-
I thought it was because I went to Windows 10.
-
I tested both win 7 @ 10 ! 10 sux ! Let's just patiently wait for new driver of nvidia ! I can still run it on my old q9600 & nvidia 9600gtx but ain't the same !
-
That and for the SDK 0.8.0 to work right. Just in time for them to come out with SDK 1.0 ! lol
-
Here is the link to the page where you can search for and download "Beta and Older Drivers" for any NVIDIA GPU.
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
You're probably looking for 358.91 or 359.00

Yup!
Uriah, could you alter the title of this post to reflect the driver version number that's causing the issue? I should have done that when posting.
-
i'll just wait for new drivers in hopes of this bug going away ! i'll use fsx for now ! meanwhile and always all the best luck to all and not just with this engine but in everything in life....
-
Yup!

Certainly. There are multiple drivers versions since the one I have installed currently, which version first caused the bugs for you guys?
361.43 ?
meanwhile and always all the best luck to all and not just with this engine but in everything in life....
How Zen of you! ^-^

(Points to the culprit with a trembling finger) That's it! 361.43's the one that did it, officer! =D
-
Y'all welcome :) patience is the key ! Always !
-
All the new settings are VR intensive. LOL Go figure.
I'm guessing its because the Oculus SDK from .0.7.0 and up are only Direct to rift, no more Extended mode.
So Nvidia must be following the same out come.
Sorry guys, thought they would have made things a little easer for you.
-
Are you saying we're doomed with further nvidia drivers ?
-
A few reports trickling in about problems in FSX with the new driver.....

None of them seem to say if they are using VR or not.
Well, hopefully I am wrong.
Either way guess we will be rolling back drivers for now.
-
Woah...I bought an Asus Strix GTX970 4GB, tried Outerra and got really scared that it was my GPU the one causing the issue with artifacts and such...thank god that was just this buggy driver.
Getting this very same error with latest Nvidia drivers in Windows 10Pro and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit as well.
I installed Windows 7 again because I'm having other issues (voltage issues with this GPU probably related to my motherboard since I also changed my 850W PSU Tacens Radix V for a new 850W PSU Corsair RM850) and damn...this OS is really good compared to the buggy mess of Windows 10. No "log in" crap, I select my own updates, no errors with sound drivers or drivers at all (Asus Xonar user here), etc...Not sure If I'll be going "back" to Windows 10, it needs a lot of polishing.
Installing 359.06 as we speak. ;)

Last Night I Got An Alien Encounter of 3rd Kind ! Still Alive ! Nothing to do with this but had to share im not crazy. i know what i saw !

Probably a Lumpman........ (Purple, of course)
-
The truth is out there !
-
The truth is owned by our govts ! Btw about abductions I was kidding ! Never been abductrd ( well maybe ) since they erase memory ) happy New Years everyone :) good luck to all !
-
nope just tried on my desktop still purple hayz :) damn it.
-
Same problem here on a GTX 970. I overwrote the drivers with the previous 359.06 ones and it works perfectly again :)
-
I really hope that at least this starting week we will receive for both desktop/mobile nvidia drivers that will fix this crap forever & on ! I mean why should we degrade performance over visuals !? I thought it's all about going forward & not backwards ! Let's hope & see what this week brings !
-
Just as a warning: The newest Nvidia drivers, (361.75) released 1/27/16 do not fix the purple scenery bug. Seems Nvidia has other priorities.
-
Yayy....
-
Yup ! Was going to remind y'all fellow nvidia users ! Guy both desktop & mobile newly nvidia drivers for gtx760 & gtx675m same crap :( ! When ?????! Will we have it back ,, notice that I ain't going back !
-
....can't say 361.91 is working any better!
Purple is not my shade of interest! :O :O
https://youtu.be/VFHPgoZlSWY (https://youtu.be/VFHPgoZlSWY)
-
Even with this latest newest driver still no fix ! I mean it's either outerra addresses this issue to nvidia and ask them for a support of software along with drivers or outerra has to help its self !
-
Maybe switching to Vulkan isn't such a bad idea after all? OpenGL and Nvidia is a hopeless case. I know switching to Vulkan can be a real pain in the ass, but I think it'll be worth it in the long run.

I was thinking something similar, but Cameni said it was a lot of effort with little real gain. At least it might free Outerra from the occasional attack of the Purple lumpmen, though.
-
Ahh fuck it ! I'll just wait & see if nvidia will one day fix this issue ! Hope so !
-
lol There's another new one already.
-
yeah i know its done now it works back to normal finally i always believed that one day it will be back to normal and it is yey ! tested again works wonders great ! enjoy all :) peace to all ! blessings !

As most of us probably know by now, the dreaded "purple bug" has been fixed by the latest nvidia driver. (364.47)
HOWEVER!
That driver had MAJOR issues (crashing peoples systems, bluescreens etc) that forced many people to reinstall windows. https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/49cy4i/new_36447_driver_released_with_vulkan_support_in/
That driver has been pulled and replaced by driver version 364.51 which is intended to address these issues and seems to work for most people. Be aware however, that some are still reporting problems even with this latest driver. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/921332/geforce-drivers/official-364-51-game-ready-whql-display-driver-feedback-thread-released-3-10-16-updated/49/
Be cautious!
