Try to install the following redistributable from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=5555
-
Hello,
I have installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) but the Problem is still exists.
-
It's an error during the initialization of FBX import, but there seems to be no more info as for what the cause might be. Does eng.log contain any other info?
-
Hi,
In my folder : C:\Users\<Your Account Name>\Outerra. are only a folder called update and a file update (.log)
In the Game Folder Outerra are a file called eng (.log)
-
Now i have reinstall my System (Windows 7 64bit etc.) and install Outerra. I try to import an other fbx file. Now i have a new Error : fbx
ERROR: Cannot open "collazer2.dll"
I hope that Problem can be solved!?
Greetings

Did you install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package as well?
-
Hello,
Yes....that was installed by windows 7 installation (Updates)
-
Hi,
when i install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) or Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) comes the old ERROR : msg here! back!
Without this two Packages comes...... Cannot open collazer2.dll library and after crash outerra.exe MSVCP100.dll not exists.
-
The failure to open collazer2.dll was because of the missing redistributable. The other error is likely because the importer or the FBX library has a problem to open your file. Did you use the latest Sketchup version to export the FBX?
-
Hello,
I have used sketchup 2014 make

Hi!
If you want, I could see your.fbx and/or the collada file to see if I can find what is wrong. Send me a P.M.

Hello!
The Problem with this FBX Importer Error : msg here! ist really tricky!!!! I'm surprised that nobody else had this Error =|
After the reinstallation of my System has the FBX Importer functioned without Problems. I have export the Objekt from 3D Warehouse in .dae File. Then I have convert this with the FBX Converter Tool (Autodesk) to FBX. The following import of the FBX file into Outerra was successful.
But after a short Time came the msg ERROR back. I haven't changed anything on my OS except install an other GPU driver! Otherwise i have only installed some object's by otx files.
So far i have removed the ERROR only through a clear new installation of the OS! I am at my wit's end :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

i got a error while importing fbx files. reinstalled new pc with all drivers, funny thing i got it to work 1 time. then nothing, took a screenshot of the message. this is for skechup files converted to fbx. been trying for days. but the dos window will not appear import fbx, it takes under 1sec and then i got this message...
(https://s30.postimg.org/6qjopk9zh/New_Bitmap_Image.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/6qjopk9zh/)
i download 2010 c++ and nv compression tool. but nothing.
-
Hi!
That says the the import is complete... seems it have been successful.
-
ok, it says its complete but the nvcompress.exe will not execute, the import take 0.5 sec, with nvcompress.exe working u will get a dos window up for each jpeg converted to direct draw texture (dds files?), making total render time 10-20sec, not 0.5 and no gfx files converted, only the fbx file.
did a new system os install, with redist package 2010 and all updates. still nothing, updated the nvcompressor tool, but it worked only twice !!!! same test with same file will not render at all... got it to work 2 times for 100 attempts by only changing the filename adding 222222 after filename. is there a external converter so i can convert skechup files (2014) to outerra?
or a command line option for nvcompress.exe so i can get the jpeg convert?
got a amd hd 7770 gfx card with i5, should nvcompress.exe work better with nvidia cards ?
-
got it to work with the import.... tried jpg dds converter and png dds converter but no texture but i can live without texture as long as i get this....
(https://s30.postimg.org/rrdba4dct/New_Bitmap_Image.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/rrdba4dct/)
the nvcompress.exe is that converting the jpeg/png to dds ?? then its there the problem lays, tried jpeg -) dds and png -) dds converter but the final import is all greyed out....
Ooh joy if the import would work, what a sandbox this would be for everyone... i having plans for making my home village from ww2 with all buildings and such. but greyed out bunkers and guns is alright, but will it be more buildings and models in the final release ?
-
oh i forgot to mention, when using the outerra fbx importer the dds files will not "copy" to gamefolder, only pkg, objdef, and mtl. i tried to convert the jpeg and png with a external dds converter and then copy the dds files to gamefolder where the imports are, but its all still grey.

Hi,
You have to open the xxx.mtl -file and fix it by hand. So for each object its designated DDS file to be registered.
