Title: earth7 doesn't load
Post by: CreteGreece on December 20, 2018, 06:33:12 pm
whenever I open earth7, it loads the planetary data, initializes the world, but then crashes without an error message. earth2 works perfectly though, and the new buildings are still there

I've also tried reinstalling, but that doesn't help

Probably this:
Code: [Select]
ERROR: graphics drivers appear to have crashed

Try to update your graphics drivers, seem to be a bit old.

Hm, weird. 1060 GPUs are pretty common.

You can try to run outerra.exe from command line with this extra argument:
Code: [Select]
outerra.exe --no-swapbuffer-crash-check

This allows it to wait longer for rendering and allow you to get through, though it still would point to a problem with your GPU or the system.

I ran it with the extra line, but it still crashed

Did it bring up the crash report window? If not it means it really crashed in the driver and may point to a HW problem or to something wrong with the system.
