We've been Kotaku'd again. ;D Is that why the site was just unavailable?

Nope, the provider decided to install upgrades and restart the server, which takes a long time.
Load form Kotaku is tiny anyway. French sites like jeuxvideo.fr dominate today.

Sweet. I like the press but dislike the video choice. NEEDS MORE VEHICLES!

Interesting, the feedback in that article, and the related ones. Everyone cries "Spore Phalluses" and yet they fail to consider what the mod community brought to Unreal Tournament and its ilk. Yeah, some were amazingly bad, but on the whole, it brought a much richer gaming environment for those that enjoyed the game (I'm talking about the first UT ... not the over-hyped stuff that came from later iterations).
Outerra/Anteworld stands at a point to be something truly amazing ... provided it has the right community behind it. And I think it's a bit more than halfway there ;)

Minecraft, Garry's Mod and rFactor are the best community built games I can think of. Garrysmod was a basic sandbox and the lua scripting community and modellers have kept it going for five years with NO content from the creator except source engine updates. rFactor can be downloaded with one car and track and I could FILL UP a hard drive with mods and tracks and plugins all community made. And minecraft. F__KING MINECRAFT.. Without user content for land purchasing mods, sound mods, texture mods and everything else nobody would play it.
So what does Outerra offer? Anything you want to add to it.

There's a comment about the land data resolution... WINK! ;)
(No, it's not by me lol)
