Title: Settings not saved after reloading Outerra
Post by: KelvinNZ on March 10, 2012, 10:16:46 pm
Hi,

When I set all my preferences and exit then reload Outerra my settings are not saved. Is this a known issue and will it be rectified in the next patch?

Regards,

Kelvin

You have to click the "Restart to apply" button on the bottom right.

Ok i looked a little harder but what i didn't say was that it was the environmental settings options that would not save. Could you advise how to save these settings. The graphics ones are OK as I have saved those.

Do you mean the atmosphere/fog/water settings? These are not yet persisted to disk.

Other settings from menu save when you quit the app, but not when it crashes before it. That was meant as a guard against changes that would cause the app to fail, but apparently it causes more problems this way, so I'm going to change that behavior too.

Yes the atmosphere, fog, and water was what I meant. This is a great idea in that water colour changes from region to region depending on how much plankton, mud, etc... is in the water so an option to brown the water would be great. This way there is no need to have an external application to modify this in the sim.

It would be great to see these settings change as per a weather engine that would ultimately control these features depending on Season, day as per the yearly calendar (as some months have different coloured skies in the morning and evening etc...) and time of day.
