Title: Data download speed

Hi everyone,

The download speed of the terrain data is slow after an update is released and between 6:00 PM and the next day.

Is this normal ? Do you plan on having more bandwith in the future ?

PS : I'm living in France by the way.

The server is located in US, but the speed varies and depends on the user location. But we'll be serving the data from our servers @google for our users in near future. Meanwhile you can also download the whole data set via bittorrent here (http://www.outerra.com/forum/index.php?topic=645.msg8073#msg8073).

I have 4,46 mbps of download, 0,38 mbps of upload and 85 ms of ping. Grade C. Slower than 55 % of Italy. We are about the same jagerbomber, I can understand you :P I can't even host a server.

The even more annoying part is that 5 people use it which means like 6+ devices.  ::)
That's my peak speed at night when nobody is on.  It can barely load a 480p video.
