Title: What's the relationship between vieWTerra and Outerra?
Post by: zzz on March 18, 2012, 02:14:09 pm
if there is one.

vieWTerra has the same premise as Outerra except it's payware. And because it views itself as a tool used by companies it charges accordingly ($600 :/)

but in fairness, it is considerably further ahead with weather systems, roads, cities, different terrains, more vehicles and much more detailed geographic formations.

None. Technologically or else.

AFAIK, it's a streaming engine like FSX, with some pluses and minuses over it. Only the modeled areas are refined to ground level detail, taking a huge space. Like FSX bound by the CPU->GPU bridge.

A big advantage for commercial use is that it can use existing imagery databases that these customers usually already have purchased.
