Title: Hole in terrain, shallow sea floor, and terrain repetition
Post by: KelvinNZ on April 21, 2012, 01:16:52 am
Hi guys,

Just a note really to say that I have noticed a few issues. See screenshots for reference.

One issue is with a hole in the terrain whereby you can see right through it to the other side.

The other issue is with the sea depth or in this case inlet depth is quite shallow for where it is. Are you using random data to determine the sea/water depth?

The final issue is with the repetitive nature of the sea floor (shown in the screenshot), it appears as though there are large rivet like shapes that repeat themselves.

I have seen similar tears in the terrain but only when the road editor is used. It has a bug doing that.

The Sea water has a patterning problem that cameni said would eventually be randomized more. The sea floor only has a 1KM data resolution so everything between point A and point B 1,000 meters away is a guess. I think more accurate coastal depths are possible/coming.
