Ever wonder what the difference was going from 240P up to 1080P other than a massive loss in framerate?

OH, instead of a new topic, Over here at -4°04'38" , +137°5'54" there is a very weird scenario.. The google map shows what looks like a giant govenment blur that turns into a smooth gradient hill close up. And the ground looks like this.
