Hmm not sure what you mean  Max 9.0 is better than Blender 2.7 or 2.69 ? no point him learning things form yesteryear and finding comminty scripts dont work anymore etc  .  I offered advice given the situation of someone using a commercial product who has loaded an uknown model and is struggling with how to decimate it .
I was there some years ago and decided to use blender , I wouldnt say I downgraded I prefer I set a more measurable aim and it worked for me .

EDIT  , he tells me Blender lags when he applies textures so i guees Blender not for professorX so all moot.

In terms of downgrade I meant from a financial perspective. $6k is alot of money. It is how much I paid for my car. My computer was $5k. I've seen modelling and renderings from both sides of the Max/Blender fence and with a very talented artist the software comparisons become pointless. From my standpoint both products are so over powered and featured I'd spend the rest of my life trying to learn everything from one of them.

Either way, good luck professorX  :D

I don't like blender. I am already getting used to 3ds max.
Also, blender lags after I apply textures in dds format.
Also, What can a 5k computer do, that a 1-2k computer can't?

;D lol, very little my friend if anything. I bought it for the fast speed and SSD storage. That is what made it pricey. In terms of ability my laptop can do everything it can do just not as fast.

What a Blender-Max fight here. :D :D Well, i guess its on personal stance here, both can do pretty much all the stuff (+ all the add-apps for special tasks). But have to say, im using blender because it seems to me more more "lightly", doe, doing precise measure-stuff, i would pick Max (just feels more like some special software like Catia etc.).  ... so, i think argue about this sub-topic will be endless just because the "personal sight" on it from everyone. :D

Haha not if I can help it. I have no plan to start any arguments. Ive seen those this vs. that arguments on other websites. I usually laugh at them all and walk away. Hey, if 3DS Max didnt expire on my ass, id have that on my computer too :-)

 Hi
I think maybe language barrier or your own interpretaion is clouding judgement here , i think you can see there is no arguing  only  personal prefference and offering seperate advice.
Please think before posting such things it can create the very thing you wish to Mock ;)

... i maybe should use a "joke" quote there. :D No worries, just joked about some more hectic discussions out there in the net about the topic. There are real world wars waged there. :D :D
