I wanted to create same thread. But i think so special forum won't be enough. Why? Anteworld will be just a base for mods and user content. So i hope there will be a lot of custom models, textures, scripts etc. Just imagine what would happen, when you will want to download some new maps. You would have to download every model, texture separately for every map. I know so there is a time to create solution to resolve this problem, but i think so there should be some addon format just after model importer will be released, to keep compatibility with newer Anteworld version. So we could use time until final Anteworld version, to create our content.

The best solution would be creating special website, which would allow to browse addons. Every file could have its own, unique name, dependencies on other content (that would be useful for maps). In future it could be expanded with ingame feature or special program to install everything with one click.

I could create such site, but first i want to know, how it all will be looking, and if you are not going to create something like that already.

They said they'll probably implement in the game some sort of library of mods on-line where you can check and download the mods, etc. Or this is what I understood.

I got it.. an in-game Costco for models. Walk in, pick your isle (homes, cars, boats, planes, trees, shrubs, etc). You are presented with a photo and via the built in web ou can initiate an instant download of said model. It will show up right in your isle.

That would be awesome.

That's what i was thinking about :) That would be great to just click once, and have new model/gamemode/map. Without downloading anything manually.

Without downloading anything manually.

Thus the beauty of having the interface in Outerra entirely HTML based. You would be downloading or at least executing a download just like you would in an external browser just inside the game. Plus it would be like a torrent file link. Just grabbing it and adding it to the queue.

That's a good point!  It would be cool if you could just link models and when you downloaded another mod or played multiplayer, it would auto download the ones linked in that game.  You could add your own to be freely available by hosting it 3DWarehouse!  Otherwise, yeah a marketplace for models would be cool, but could pose legal issues too.
