Scrubbing terrain / deleting tiles
« on: March 02, 2012, 02:44:38 pm »

So if I've made a road that turned out wrong and messed up a load of terrain is there any way to easily identify the affected tile/s and revert/re-download them?

If you select the road when in the road editor, and then delete it, the land should revert back to its original form.

Aha!  So am I right in thinking the terrain data is never actually destructively edited?

Not currently, no.

When placing a static object like a house or building, if you level the ground and then later delete the building, the leveled terrain will stay there.  If you go into the road editor, you can select the leveled terrain (it's just a road), delete that, and the land returns to normal.

Terrain modification is kept in a separate layer, it will never change the original data.

Hm, I have a problem... I did as you suggested, and I managed to delete all the roads I've placed and a runway, terrain did get back to normal, but trees are missing where runway used to be... Any way to get the trees back?

Could be a damaged road down there, try clicking around the place while in the road editor, if it highlights anything hidden there.

I can't find that spot anymore to be honest XD

Is there a way to reset data to default?

By deleting the "cache" folder and reinstalling.
