DCS world and P-51D beta

Yea old news but I wanted to share them if someone missed them. It's the new DCS core where modules will connect. Extremely helpful if you have multiple modules and want to save disk space. I won't pre-purchase the P-51D. I am saving money for the fixed wing US jet (which I hope will be a F/A-18, or a F-16 at least.). Yea, also thinking on preordering anteworld (finally you'll say).

While they have made great sims A-10, Ka-50, the core engine they are using is enhanced old cpu centric Lock-on code - running on one core (except sound engine). There are high res mods for better eye candy but it takes highend pc to run those. On average pc DCS still looks like Lock-on.

About DCS world - as i understood it will be possible to create 3rd party ground veichle / ship / infantry simmulations using SDK - so will this be a Outerra competitor? Not sure if flight sim engine will be efficient way for realistic ground operations.

Even with all negativity i still belive in ED as one of few hardcore sim developers.
Who knows maybe ED team in future will addapt Outerra as core engine.

In DCS world there is a free plane imported from FC2, the SU-25T. Please do not consider it as a DCS series' plane. Try P-51D and you'll have the engine of DCS A-10C & Black Shark 2 with some tweaks.

EDIT: They are actually making the engine better. It doesn't look at all like the Lock-on's one in my opinion. In the future they'll add a multi-core support.
EDIT2: someone is already making a plane for DCS --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87621

If you want to make one too, you will need to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement, and a 3rd party developers agreement with both TFC/ED and MapleFlagMissions.ca.
