Golden Hour
« on: May 30, 2012, 10:09:32 am »

Just got the Alpha yesterday and I've been having so much fun flying around these amazing landscapes, playing with the features and taking screen shots. The lighting around dawn and dusk is fantastic, it has that real god light quality that you see in the real world. So I thought I'd share some of my screens of this wonderful time.

I just cant thank the guys who developed this software enough. I'm having so much fun just zipping around the sky with a big grin on my face looking at this amazing world and finding so many beautiful places. I spent most of last evening with a big grin on my face staring at the computer screen. :D

Just wait until the terrain actually casts shadows on itself and on models. These shots will be completely different and better.

Clouds too.

Some of them really rocks! Good eye, sir.
As ZeosPantera says, selfshadow on terrain and clouds will be the shit!

In future there are three steps to "perfection" (in this order I presume):
1) terrain selfshadow
2) clouds
3) cloud shadows

...but it looks fantastic even without it :-)
