Outerra Tech Demo download. Help with graphics driver issues
As to resolution, there's definitely a point where the benefits are outweighed by the need to calculate for more pixels. I fly X-Plane in a full size cockpit using a 42" HDTV, but only use the 1600 x 900 resolution. Frame rates are much better, and the outside view at altitude is very acceptable.
It's just a Best Buy Dynex el cheapo. It's good enough for X-Plane quality graphics. I'll have to do some more experimenting! When I start spooling up my involvement in Outerra/Anteworld and get my jet and cockpit converted over, then I'm going to have to reassess. I'm running a reasonable card at the moment - a GTX 285 Classified with a gig of vram.
