Main interface and Graphic settings
« on: January 16, 2013, 08:07:34 pm »

Much to my surprise I have not really seen much in terms of the main interface and how it may look going forward. Cameni, do you have any objection about people submitting ideas about how your loading interface and settings interface could look?

I suppose there are many ideas about how these interfaces could look to show off the sexy engine! I suppose as an engine it could be left up to 3rd parties to create or add interfaces but do you have any plans to improve the somewhat generic look of the startup and internal settings interfaces?

I have added a screenshot of the type of options I would expect to see inside an engine of Outerras calibre but my main point here is about how the interface will look as part of the default setup, then I can start to understand what 3rd parties will be able to add ontop of it.

Technically, the UI being written in html and modifiable, one could even take it and mod it ...
But it's not yet in a stable enough state for that, we also need to modify it for international language support, for example.

Ok, I assume it will always be this way for those who wish to mod it?

If it will always be html? Likely. Though the API through which the UI talks to the engine may change from time to time.
