French Abbey
« on: February 28, 2013, 06:42:59 am »

I remember there is somewhere on the forum a thread where to show some models... might not be the correct place to post this.
below an example of a collada import test of a French Abbey.

The model is very simple and I think the textures could be improved a lot,
but we took it as we got it and it is anyway not so bad at all...

Thanks Brano, this model/textures is lacking precision and complexity, but at least it gives a good idea of what is achievable
if we would obtain and import much larger datas, like a full city or village...

Still, fits in nicely.
It just feels vulnerable in the wilderness, needs city walls :)

I was gonna ask about that: will the idea be that all building models have an interior?

City walls should be made by the engine and follow the terrain. Like the road editor but on steroids.

Depends on who you are asking. The engine doesn't care, it depends on the games that will be using it, which will have their own preferences and capabilities. Obviously probably everyone wants to have all interiors, but I think that without a procedural building generator it's not generally viable.
