Could you send me just one of those pieces with problems? (.max). (if you have any modifiers on it, keep them).

Edit: I have exported a test mesh from Max. I had no problems with smoothing groups, but I had some other shading issues... Same problem with Blender.

Hi!

First try to unwrap one of those components and check if the problem is solved (that solved my issues with a model in Blender, wich also doesn't use textures now, just materials).

Hi!

Yes... the problem is the same I had: lack of UV coordinates, as Angrypig indicated me: they are necessary to compute tangentspace correctly.



In the meantime, you may just perform a fast unwrap (flatten mapping) for your components.

I have done all in Max2009 but in Max2016 has probably destroyed ... >:(
