Cannot import models, via the Builder->Import tab.
« on: June 22, 2013, 02:54:52 am »

I want to import models in Outterra.

The 'basic set' that come with Outtera can be imported via Builder->Buildings.

The same 'basic set'cannot be imported via Builder->Import tab.Builder->Import tab

Nor can I import a truck I downloaded from reddit.

The effect is the directory containing the models appears empty from Builder->Import tab.

e.g. from reddit:

Truck_and_Trailer_Pack01_by_newS_v1.0.rar\packages\newS\Actros_Mp4_001_static

I think you are mixing the terminology a bit here.

"Import" is for importing models from other 3D formats (Collada). Models that are already in Outerra format can be installed, not imported.
Finally, Builder->Buildings is using/placing the already imported/installed models.

To install a mod: if you have an otx file of the model, just click it and it will be installed automatically. Earlier mods were made as rar/zip files that had to be unpacked manually into your Outerra data directory (c:\users\yourwinname\outerra\). All new mods should be made as otx files and installable on a few clicks.
