well the combination just opens up some additional context menu options ,but if you do that in the folder it should let you open an command window right there without having to navigate there, not terribly important though.

Forgive my stupidity but i can just open up a normal command prompt right? then type the necessary info to convert. Do i use the quotations and or brackets like you demonstrated or do i not use them?

Where is the batch file located. Once again, this is the most complicated computer matter i have dealt with besides actually building it. Please forgive me.

conv.bat converts into a smaller video file for upload or just viewing, conv4edit.bat converts into an mpeg-2 file which is better for editing, and conv4edit-noaudio does the same just without audio, I'd suggest taking conv.bat  unless you want to edit the file.

it then says conv.bat is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Ill give up in a few minutes. im typing: conv.bat capture_1371437065.yog blahblah.avi     ive tried with and without the underscore as well.

are you sure that you are in the right folder command line wise, what do you see left of the text you type ? Should say something like C:\Users\Youraccountname\Downloads\video> if you extracted the zip in your downloads folder ;)
