Dxtory not recording Outerra
« on: June 17, 2013, 07:00:51 pm »

So, I can't seem to get Dxtory to recognize and record Outerra. I'm pretty sure it's an opengl problem. I'm running an hd 7850 with the latest drivers.

yeah everything interfering with the rendering process doesn't really work well, you can use a screen capture program but not something that gets to outerra directly, or you simply use outerra's own video recording function

What a speedy response. I was having trouble using the default recorder. It uses like .yog files or something right? Then I have to get into the confusing command prompts and extracting. Is their another (easier) way to view the .yog files?

http://winff.org/html_new/ should be able to play it
http://www.outerra.com/video/ffmpeg-yog.zip you have to replace the ffplay binaries with those

It's not working, I'm getting errors. I copied the binary files from ffmpeg to winff and replaced those then tried those presets and I'm just getting a command prompt with some red text that immediately closes. Nothing saves.   Do I just add the .yog in or the .wav in too? If so, in what order?

after some reading and testing i think the easiest way to view them is to simply put your yog and wav file in the video folder from the zip file and press ctrl+shift+rightclick there you can choose open command window here an then simply write "conv.bat <your yogfile>.yog <name of new file>.avi"  and a new file with the name you choose should be created.

That sounds easy, but i don't know what you mean by "from the zip file"? They aren't zipped. i zipped them anyways then put them in videos. I can't seem to get the ctrl + shift + right click to work so i just opened a command prompt and typed that. I probably did it wrong (because it said it couldn't recognize the batch file or something ) so could you please explain a tad more. I know i'm being tough on you, I just have no clue what i'm doing.
