Outerra crashes when I try to import my model (Maya)
« on: December 21, 2013, 05:10:20 pm »

Hi all,

--- I searched by couldn't find a useful Maya-export-with-Collada-and-import-to-Outerra tutorial.

I'm working on a warbird model and I'm using Maya. I'm far from being an expert on modeling, and this is the first time I ever attempted to make a mod for a game.

Aim: At this stage, I only want to see my model in the Outerra world.

Situation:
1. I'm not even sure that I should do this this way, but what I do is I combine all objects before I click "export selected."
2. I try to import the model, but Outerra crashes immediately.

I might be trying the wrong thing or my model may well have serious flaws - I don't really know the reason. I think I just need a good Maya export tutorial for Outerra.

Thanks all in advance.

Have you tried to export an FBX and use the outerra FBX importer? In game, press ctrl F7 to open it. I dont know about maya, but sketchup and 3ds max fbx import pretty well.
