Some weird things on Antarctica
« on: February 22, 2014, 06:29:16 am »

Hi. Today I decided to see Antarctica in Outerra. So I flew where it should be, and... I saw a strange area. I don't know if this is a graphics card problem, or perhaps an issue of terrain. The fact is - I put up a video on youtube to confirm this.

Yes - satellite data for those areas (north pole too) are not refined ...
We are still undeveloped as long as we don´t realize, that all our science is still descriptive, and than beyond that description lies a whole new world we just haven´t even started to fully understand.

The Geographic South Pole is in the middle of the central "pillar".

Most of the games/apps that use real elevation databases for their terrain have this problem. FSX has that as well, for example.
