Some weird things on Antarctica
« on: February 22, 2014, 06:29:16 am »

Hi. Today I've decided to look at Antarctica in the Outerra engine. So I flew where it should be, and... I've seen a really strange area. I'm not sure if that's is a graphics card problem or perhaps an issue of terrain, but the fact is - there's a video on YouTube to just confirm this.

Yes - satellite data for those areas (north pole too) are not refined ...

We are still undeveloped as long as we don´t realize, that all our science is still descriptive, and than beyond that description lies a whole new world we just haven´t even started to fully understand.

Most of the games/apps that use real elevation databases for their terrain have this problem. FSX has that as well, for example.
