The best is to take a look at one of the existing aircraft, for example the Cessna.
To make it appear among the aircraft, your objdef file has to have "physics" : "jsbsim/...". The Cessna has "jsbsim/c172r" there; the c172r is the name of JSBSim FDM model found in jsbsim/aircraft/c172r

Then you also need the aircraft script file that links the aircraft to the inputs, controls the animations etc.

Made this model and used a f16 config for it
flies ok except it has to be dropped from a high altitude
Need the prop to spin but have no idea how to do it or the textures.
Tried following the advice from others  but no luck
using blender and gimp

Try looking into the Shavrov Sh-2 script - that has an functioning propeller based on engine rpm ... also, how are you whyte the textures ? Did you do UVs for it now ? Or their and the textures are done but not rendered in OT ?

P.S.: Why the parasite and not the damn big-ass cloud aircraft carrier ? :D

i made the whole thing in blender
i uv in there and paint it in there
blender exports the textures as png files
i have a program that changes them to dds files
i export the dae file and the textures to a file folder
then import it into outerra but the textures never show up.
cant figure what im doing wrong yet.

thanks for reply

you need to copy the dds textures in your vehicle folder in outerra. The importer will not copy those, it only change  textures  extention name from jpg, pgn etc... to .dds  in the .MTL file. So you still have to manually move the dds .

There ya go buddy ! And dont worry ... youre not the only one crappy when it comes to textures. At least i can be added to that list too. :D There are great posibilityes for texturing when all the types and .mtl parameters are set right. Doe i think its not much needed to try scratch the texturing if you cant get around it. Just slap the UV layouts into the model and someone better at it will try to play whyte it in time. :)
